Monday Balaclava is knitted from top to bottom in stockinette stitch. First, a square corresponding to the top of the head is knitted. Next, stitches are picked up on either side of this square, and decreases are worked along the face opening. The balaclava is then knitted straight down to finally be brought together under the chin to be knitted in the round, before being divided into a front and back piece. Finally, an elastic edge is knitted in the face opening and an i-cord edge along the edge at the bottom.
